Sources within Machakos County claim the Deputy Governor’s role has largely remained ceremonial, limiting his political visibility despite his notable grassroots influence in Lower Yatta. Political observers note that while Mwangangi may not mount a gubernatorial bid in 2027 due to financial constraints, his influence could shape voter sentiment if the rift deepens.
