Microtrack Research Africa has released its latest national performance appraisal poll, ranking the top 30 Members of Parliament based on public perception of their effectiveness. The survey assessed MPs on service delivery, legislative contribution, community engagement, and overall leadership.

In the new rankings, Kitui Central MP Hon. Dr. Makali Mulu, CBS — who is also eyeing the Kitui Governorship in 2027 — emerged as Kenya’s second best-performing MP. He garnered an impressive 83% performance rating, placing him among the country’s most trusted and impactful legislators.

The findings have sparked celebrations across Kitui County, with supporters praising Dr. Mulu’s consistency, development track record, and people-centered leadership. Many have described the recognition as a strong endorsement of his 2027 gubernatorial bid.

Reacting to the accolade, Dr. Makali Mulu expressed deep gratitude, noting that the achievement belongs not to him alone but to the people he serves. “I am truly humbled to receive recognition at the Africa Champion Awards. My heartfelt gratitude goes to the people of Kitui Central, the wider Kitui County, and all Kenyans for your continued trust and encouragement,” he said.

He further reiterated his commitment to inclusive and transformative leadership, calling on citizens to continue working together. “This award is a reflection of our collective effort and shared vision. Let us continue working together to build a better, stronger, and more inclusive Kenya,” he added.
