Kitui Central Member of Parliament Dr. Makali Mulu, PhD, has declared his readiness to face off with former Governor Charity Ngilu in the 2027 Kitui gubernatorial race, expressing strong confidence that he will defeat her decisively. Speaking during a public function in Kitui Central, the seasoned legislator said his development track record and unwavering commitment to good governance make him the best candidate to lead Kitui County.

“I will beat Ngilu squarely in 2027. I am a legend who can’t buy fear. The people of Kitui know what I have done and what I stand for,” Dr. Mulu told cheering supporters. He stated that his leadership would focus on uniting the people of Kitui, promoting transparency, and ensuring equitable development across all wards.

The MP outlined his key priorities, including empowering youth and women, promoting agricultural growth, and supporting industrialization to create jobs and expand the county’s economic base. He said his administration will tap into Kitui’s rich resources to improve livelihoods and reduce poverty through sustainable development programs.

Dr. Mulu also took aim at divisive politics, warning leaders against engaging in what he termed as “politics of deception and selfishness.” He urged Kitui residents to embrace issue-based politics and focus on electing leaders with a genuine vision for progress rather than those driven by personal interests.
