Hon. Jonathan Ngenga Tells Off MP Charles Nguna Over Kitui–Kibwezi–Kwa Siku–Mbondoni Road
By Mulu Mulwa
Mwingi West MP aspirant Hon. Jonathan Ngenga has strongly criticized the sitting MP, Hon. Charles Nguna, over his remarks regarding the Kitui–Kibwezi–Kwa Siku–Mbondoni road project. Ngenga accused Nguna of misleading residents about the history and progress of the major road infrastructure project that connects Kitui, Mwingi, and Tseikuru.
Speaking during a community engagement forum in Mwingi West, Ngenga reminded residents that the tarmacking of the Kibwezi–Kitui–Mwingi–Tseikuru road was initiated by former Vice President H.E. Kalonzo Musyoka back in 2011. He stated that Kalonzo played a pivotal role in pushing for the project during his tenure in government, ensuring it was captured in the national development agenda.

“ It is H.E. Kalonzo Musyoka who launched the tarmacking of the Kibwezi–Kitui–Mwingi–Tseikuru road when he was the Vice President. Let the outgoing MP CNN stop peddling lies that Kalonzo did nothing about the road,” Ngenga said, referring to Nguna’s earlier claims.
Ngenga further accused the incumbent MP of attempting to take undue credit for the progress of the road, saying development should not be politicized or used as a campaign tool. He urged leaders to be honest with the people and focus on service delivery rather than propaganda.
The Wiper Party aspirant reaffirmed his commitment to championing development and accountability in Mwingi West, pledging to work closely with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka to ensure the completion of stalled infrastructure projects. He also called on residents to remain united and support leaders who tell the truth and have the community’s interests at heart.
