Kitui Central MP and 2027 Kitui gubernatorial aspirant Hon. Dr. Makali Mulu, CBS, on Saturday morning joined hundreds of teachers attending the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Mutomo Branch Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Mutomo town.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Makali applauded teachers for their unwavering commitment to shaping the minds and morals of the next generation. He emphasized that education remains the backbone of national development, and teachers play an irreplaceable role in nurturing Kenyaโ€™s future leaders.

Dr. Makali urged teachers to be deliberate in their choice of leaders, both at the county and national levels. He cautioned against electing leaders driven by self-interest, instead calling for support for focused, accountable, and results-oriented leadership that prioritizes service delivery and sustainable growth for Kitui County.

โ€œWe must elect focused, accountable, and results-oriented leaders who can deliver real transformation to the great people of Kitui,โ€ he told the attentive audience.

The lawmaker further rallied teachers to back his 2027 gubernatorial bid, assuring them of people-centered, transparent, and transformative leadership that would advance education, healthcare, and economic empowerment across the county.

Dr. Makaliโ€™s remarks were met with enthusiasm from the educators, many of whom praised his consistent advocacy for better working conditions and policies in the education sector during his tenure in Parliament.
