In Friday 22nd October, 2021- Kitui executive member for Trade and investment madam Esther Kilonzo called on residents to register For NHIF cover saying no one Knows what Tomorrow holds for us.
The NHIF mass enrollment exercise in Kitui county is ongoing across the county, barely a month after Governor Charity Ngilu launched the UHC plan for Kitui residents.
Informed by the need for constant engagement for en effective roll-out and utilization of the UHC facility, Trade, Cooperative and Investments CECM Esther Kilonzi has urged village elders to relentlessly sensitize their people to enroll in large numbers.
” Without improved standards of health, out quest for prosperity and a better life for our people would remain hollow” she said.
Mrs. Kilonzi further reaffirmed Governor Charity Ngilu’s commitment to ensuring that Kitui People have access to a quality affordable health care at the least cost.
The new Universal health coverage scheme( UHC) in partnership with NHIF will see all Kitui registered members benefit from inpatient and outpatient facilities in all NHIF accredited facilities across Kitui and the country at large.
She explained that the scheme will see residents pay Ksh. 3000 and the county a similar amount to guarantee an annual subscription of sh.6000.
Today’s Kyangwithya East sensitization tour kicked off at Kwa- Ukungu, before proceeding to Kwa- Mutheke and finally Mutuni.
