Hon. Charles Nguna Coordinates Preparations Ahead of President Ruto’s Visit to Mwingi West

Mwingi West Member of Parliament, Hon. Charles Nguna, today toured Kwasiku area to oversee and coordinate final preparations ahead of President William Ruto’s highly anticipated visit scheduled for tomorrow. The Head of State is expected to tour several key development projects in the constituency, marking a significant milestone in the government’s ongoing investment in infrastructure and rural electrification within Kitui County.

According to Hon. Nguna, the President’s itinerary will include an inspection of the ongoing construction of the Kwasiku–Migwani–Mbondoni Road, a vital infrastructure project aimed at boosting connectivity and trade in the region. The MP noted that the road, once completed, will ease transport for farmers and traders, enhance access to markets, and generally uplift the socio-economic wellbeing of the local residents.

In addition to the road inspection, President Ruto is also expected to flag off the Kitui Last Mile Electrification Project, an ambitious initiative that seeks to connect hundreds of households and public institutions to the national power grid. Hon. Nguna expressed optimism that the project will transform livelihoods by enabling access to electricity for small businesses, schools, and health facilities across Mwingi West and neighboring areas.

The legislator reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with both the national and county governments to ensure that Mwingi West residents benefit fully from government development programmes. He lauded the Kenya Kwanza administration for prioritizing infrastructure and energy projects in Kitui County, saying such initiatives are key to unlocking the region’s economic potential.

Hon. Nguna further urged residents to turn out in large numbers to welcome President Ruto and demonstrate unity and appreciation for the government’s ongoing efforts. He emphasized that the visit signifies a strong partnership between the local leadership and the national government, all geared towards advancing development and improving the lives of the people of Mwingi West.
