CS Kagwe and PS Mueke Lead 69th Graduation Ceremony at Dairy Training Institute Naivasha
The Cabinet Secretary for Livestock Development, Hon. Mutahi Kagwe, and the Principal Secretary for Livestock Development, Hon. Jonathan Mueke, jointly officiated the 69th Graduation Ceremony of the Dairy Training Institute (DTI) in Naivasha. The event marked a significant milestone in Kenya’s livestock sector, celebrating the graduation of a new cohort of dairy professionals ready to contribute to the nation’s agricultural growth.
In his address, PS Mueke commended the graduates for their hard work and dedication, urging them to apply their newly acquired skills to improve the dairy industry. He emphasized the importance of modern dairy practices in enhancing animal feeding, breeding, hygiene, and milk quality across Kenya’s farming communities.
“I encouraged them to use their training to strengthen our dairy industry, improve farmer incomes, and secure the nutrition of our nation,” said PS Mueke. He added that the government remains committed to empowering young professionals and farmers with knowledge and technology to boost productivity in the livestock sector.
CS Kagwe lauded the institute’s role in producing skilled personnel who are essential to driving innovation in the dairy value chain. He noted that a vibrant dairy sector contributes not only to food security but also to rural livelihoods and national economic growth.
The event concluded with a call to action for the graduates to become ambassadors of excellence in their respective fields. The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development reaffirmed its commitment to continue supporting training and capacity-building initiatives aimed at transforming Kenya into a leading dairy producer in the region.
