Kakamega County Assembly has suspended MCA Lilian Osiema for a period of one year following a scuffle that ensued at the assembly. Lilian, a nominated MCA from Butere battered Hon. Wambulwa Barasa, MCA Chevaywa ward in what the assembly termed as a gruesome attack.
“The MCA has been barred from accessing the county assembly for a period of one year and shall not receive any privileges during the suspension” the deputy speaker ruled in a sitting that lasted five minutes earlier today.
The assembly unanimously agreed that Lilian be barred from house business for a unruly character exihibed in the yesterday’s debacle in the assembly chambers.
The affected, Barasa is nursing injuries sustained at Kakamega Central Nursing Home.
This is not the first time legislators at Kakamega county assembly engaged in fist fights. Last month, Hon. Kevin Mahelo MCA Butali – Chegulo ward was reduced to injuries by another female legislator who claimed Mahelo insulted her physique causing the differences.
Male legislators now want the speaker of the assembly Mr. Buluma to protect them from feminism as their lives remain endangered causing fear and interfering house business.
“We are living in fear, we dont know who is next on the battering radar” a distraught MCA who spoke in anonymity said.
