Governor Charity Ngilu has restated the need to support women realise growth and influence development in the county.
In a message delivered by the County Executive Committee Member for Tourism, Sports and Culture, Patrick Musau during the Annual General Meeting of Kakeani FSA, Ngilu said women empowerment was key in reducing the rate of dependency in the society.
“Women contribute a lot in supporting the economy, when you empower a woman, you empower the whole community” he read.
The Governor emphasized the need for women to unite in development based projects and urged that they take advantage of the farm ploughing programme noting rains had commenced.
Mrs. Ngilu thanked residents for their participation in the artificial insemination programme saying it would yield better results.
The Governor encouraged residents to take advantage of the County Health Cover to access quality and affordable health care in public health facilities.
Further, the Governor asked parents to take care of their school going children and warned men against any form of abuse.
Mr. Musau was accompanied by the Chief Officer, Office of the Governor Madam Agens Mulewa.
