Machakos Senatorial seat is up for grabs after the demise of Boniface Kabaka and the County is desperately looking for a replacement.

County Diary has been on the ground listening to the peoples voices. Today we bring you a prominent legal mind Musyoka Kalla who many see as the probable successor. He is whispered to be a darling of Wiper Party Leadership and enjoys the confidence of voters.

Having served in the Building Bridges Initiative process that has gained momentum in Ukambani the lawyer can easily help the Party to broker a power truce with handshake partners. If NASA affiliates and Jubilee Kieleweke wing agree not to field a Senatorial candidate in Machakos he can be easly presented and accepted as the handshake Senator.

Kalla contested the same seat in 2017 and came 2nd after the late Kabaka. He narrowly lost by about 9,000 votes in the hotly contested race with a disputed tally. He filed a petition in court seeking a vote recount but lost the petition.

Just like Transport CAS Wavinya Ndeti who sort Machakos gubernatorial seat in vain a big number of County residents believe that Kalla was robbed off his well deserved victory. Now fate has offered the constituents of Machakos another chance to stamp their authority through ballot and Kalla will definitely be accrued sympathy votes.

With his 2017 network and machinery intact and activated Kalla comes out as a very strong candidate any party or person cannot ignore this. Armed with a ballot experience and his vast county networks that includes some of his loyal former workmates county government Kalla has a upper hand in Machakos politics. He once served as a Chief Officer incharge of public service in Machakos and majority of County Government employees were employed during his tenure.

Kalla’s academic profile outweighs most of the candidates both within and outside Wiper Party. He seems to understand devolution matters better that than his peers. He will therefore represent the people of machakos county better. He has maintained a close working relationship with all the Wiper legislatures who will play a critical role in influencing the outcome of this by-election.

Being the regional BBI coordinator in Lower Eastern region and having served in the technical experts committee which drafted the constitutional amendment bill puts Kalla on the National map. He is the kind that any voter trust for his ability and credintials.

Kalla is an articulate and gifted orator with a good command of English, Swahili and Kamba languages. He can read the mood and speak the minds of people giving him an edge to counter his political rivals or their propaganda. According to previous polls he enjoys support in most populous zones like Mavoko, Machakos Township, Kathiani, Matungulu and Kangundo which are key in County based election. Kalla is down to earth leader who has mastered the art of politics by making humility his strategy. He has a youthful votes base and easily mingles with the common mwananchi.

Kalla is not a classy guy neither does he love class struggles associated with politicians and prominent people. He is the kind of person who will rather play his favourite draught game at a bus stop or other open air fields with makangas, boda boda guys, mkokoteni guys and university students while others retreat to play golf in expensive resorts during weekends and holidays.

He is a selfless, courageous and fearless leader who will advance the community’s interest nomatter the resistance from foes. He will be a resourceful asset in advancing the Ukambani agenda in 2022 polls on the National platform where Kalonzo bids Presidency.

If elected Kalla will make history as the third Senator of Machakos and join his counterparts who have become faces of Ukambani politic like Mutula Jnr of Makueni, Kiio Wambua of Kitui as formidable team with a united front.
