
Kitui MCAs and the Executive have finally committed to work together and foster development in the county, the COUNTY DIARY has learnt.
In a meeting co-chaired by Deputy Governor Dr. Wathe Nzau and Speaker George Ndoto in Mombasa, the members of the two entities signaled to have reached a nod on a harmonious working relationship forthwith.
Today’s meeting was a conclusion of the retreat that sought to iron out differences and forge a way forward through a five-point agreement chiefly touching on improving working relations of the County Assembly and the C. Executive.
Speaking during the closing session today, Deputy Governor Dr. Wathe Nzau said the county residents stand to benefit from the working rapport between the two arms.
“This meeting has reached solid resolutions that once considered for implementation will transform the county”. He said.
On his part, Speaker George Ndotto commended members of the two arms for reaching a common understanding to smoothen operations in the county but execute their mandates with honesty.
“I want the people of Kitui to know that this meeting meant well for all of us. We are looking forward to reaching significant development soon” . said Ndoto
Majority leader Peter Kilonzo said disagreements between the two arms had derailed growth but expressed hope in the latest development.
In the meeting, it was unanimously agreed that members set aside differences in order to deliver sufficiently on their mandate.
