Kitui Deputy Governor Dr Wathe Nzau, chaired a meeting attended by the senior officers in the Ministry of Environment, Tourism and Natural Resources, led by the CECM Patrick Musau Koki and the Chief Officer Evelyn Musembi, at the Ministry headquarters from 7.30am.
In that meeting, the Deputy Governor was briefed on the status of the ongoing development activities happening in the Ministry.
Among the key issues discussed include:
The International Day of Forests (IDF) which will be celebrated at Kalundu Eco Park on 21st March 2021 at 10:00am, whose theme will be about Forest restoration; A path to recovery and well being.
Power installation at Kalundu Eco park by Kenya Power & Lighting Company which CECM Patrick Musau said the plans are almost over and the Ministry is only waiting the KP& LC to move in and install the power.
The team also deliberated on several key ongoing projects within the Ministry, highlighting the extent of implementation of the Identified projects within the proposed sites and the challenges that inhibit effective implementation on the same.
In that meeting, a common ground was reached by the team to fast track implementation of key infrastructure projects within the Ministry with an aim of improving the status of Kitui Residents.
