The political theatrics at the County Assembly of Kitui spearheaded by anti Governor Charity Ngilu MCAs after the belly-flopped impeachment is uncalled for, ill-thought-out and disputably nonsensical.
This time round the team of rogue MCAs in pursuit of their witch-hunting mission to the Executive, shamelessly tabled and passed a motion on the status of Kitui County Budgets Estimates for FY 2020/2021.
Funny enough, the motion blindly alleged overlooking of what they are terming as ‘relevant laws’ by the Executive in handling 2020/2021 budget resulting to a stalemate in legislation and delay in funds disbursement.
The evil team’s way out now is to completely frustrate the *Kitui County Appropriations Bill 2020/2021!!!*
As a result of this usual budgetary commotions by the County Assembly, it means implementation of development projects and programs by the Executive across the county through *development expenditure* will stagnate until when the political chest-thumping by MCAs is over, which will be too late.
The *recurrent expenditure;* settling of wages and salaries for county employees and purchases of goods and services for the smooth running of the county to foster delivery of services to mwananchi will be adversely affected as well.
When will the county assembly heed to the peoples’ desire for development and payment of salaries in time and quit taking Kitui County hostage?
