Update: Kitui receives 9000 COVID19 Vaccine doses Says Dr. KITETU



Update: Kitui County has received over 9000 COVID19 Vaccine – which is set to be launched tomorrow by the Governor Charity Ngilu, County Health cabinet secretary Dr. Kitetu has said.

On Tuesday, 9th March, 2021 – Kitui Health Cabinet Secretary Dr Kitetu revealed that one 9,000 Covid-19 Vaccine Doses has been received in the County.

Kitui Deputy Governor Dr Wathe Nzau held a meeting with the County Health Management Team(CHMT) led by the CECM for Health and Sanitation Dr Winnie Kitetu, at the New Out Patient Department (OPD) building in Kitui County Referral Hospital.

In that meeting, Dr Wathe was briefed on the status of the ongoing activities within the Ministry of Health and Sanitation.

Among the agendas discussed include:

The 9,000 Covid-19 Vaccine Doses which the Ministry received yesterday from the National Government and its launching ceremony which will be graced by H.E Governor Charity Ngilu tomorrow at Kitui County Referral Hospital.

The Launching of Mobile Outreaches which will be graced by H.E Governor Charity Ngilu at Ikutha Market on Monday 25th March, 2021, where the following free medical activities will be done;

Screening of Cervical Cancer, Diabetics and Hypertension.

Blood Donations, Immunization, Health promotions,etc.

Dr Wathe was also briefed on how the Special Isolation Unit in Preparedness of any Covid-19 with a capacity of 28 fully equipped beds and the Amenity wing which has both Outpatient and Inpatients services is helping Kitui people.
