Governor’s Charity Ngilu (Kitui), Prof. Kivutha Kibwana ( Makueni) and Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua have today called on Kenyans to support the building bridges initiative (BBI) saying it will help realize a fair, inclusive and prosperous country and increase counties’ allocation from a mere 15% to at least 35% thus improving growth in the grassroots.
The Governor’s were speaking today at Kitui stadium in a public meeting after Governor Ngilu’s endorsement to spearhead BBI in the lower Eastern Region.
Governor Ngilu said BBI is anchored on improving the lives of Kenyans noting it will impact development through strengthened devolution.”We have fought poverty for long, it is time we rise and fight for our people now through BBI” she said.
On his part, Makueni Governor Prof. kivutha Kibwana said Ukambani leaders were on the forefront to ensure BBI brings more benefits to mwananchi through inclusivity, good governance and fair representation.
Governor Kivutha further refuted claims that BBI is meant to benefit a few individuals calling on Kenyans not to be deceived by politicians who do not mean well for the country.
Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua ( through a live video call) said BBI is a game changer that should be supported for efficient service delivery to the people.
“BBI is a system of development which is going to benefit all Kenyans at large, our people need real development” he said.
Other leaders present were Machakos Deputy Governor Eng. Francis Maliti and several Members of the County Executive Committee of Machakos.Ends.
