Uhuru nominates Kitui Politician to join Kenya Post Office Savings Bank Board

President Uhuru Kenyatta reelected in 2017 general elections on a Jubilee ticket has nominated Moses Banda, a two times Kitui Central parliamentary contestant; 2013 and 2017 on a TNA and Jubilee party tickets respectively as a board member of Kenya Post Office Savings Bank.

“I thank President Uhuru for the appointment. It’s a great honour to the people of Kitui Central and Ukambani at large. The appointment is in line with my expertise in banking and finance. I will support the growth of the bank in order to contribute to Uhuru’s Big Four Agenda.” Banda said on phone.

Moses Banda studied Bachelor of Arts degree in Microfinance and Economic Community Development at Catholic University in Uganda, MBA holder in Banking and Finance from Moi University and he is currently pursuing a PhD in Entrepreneurship.

Mr Banda is a pioneer member of K-Rep Bank, life member of Kenya Red Cross, member of Micro-finance professionals and serving as Board Director of Susu Microfinance Bank-Nigeria.

He ventured into active politics
in 2013 when he vied for Kitui Central parliamentary seat on a TNA ticket and again with Jubilee party in 2017. Banda is the Jubilee party Kitui Centrally Constituency Chapter Chairman.

Over two decades, he has continued to devote her career in the field of development finance through providing consulting and advisory services to various institutions within Sub-Sahara Africa Region.


Other beneficiaries from Ukambani Region are former Kitui Senator Hon. David Musila who is now the National Museums of Kenya Chairman and board members; Maryangela Kamene Kimwele-Jomo Kenyatta foundation, Beth Syengo-Bomas of Kenya, Charles Mulila-Kenya Broadcasting Corporation, Kisoi Munyao- Export Processing Zones Authority among others.

Hon. Margaret Kenyatta, Hon. Ida Odinga and Former Kitui Women Rep. Hon. Nyiva Mwendwa were honoured with second class order of the Golden Heart whereas Pro. Maria Nzomo was accorded second class order of the Burning Spear among others.
