The President of the Republic of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to lead high-level Cabinet Retreat in Taita Taveta County.
Deputy President Dr William RUTO is among those expected to attend, the COUNTY DIARY has learnt.
On Thursday, October 15, 2020 – President Kenyatta summoned all Cabinet secretaries, to a Cabinet meeting in Manyani, Taita Taveta County, to discuss Government agenda, particularly the release of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report contents.
On Tuesday, Head of Public Service, Joseph Kinyua, wrote to all Cabinet Secretaries and notified them of the Friday meeting that will be chaired by the Head of State.
Others invited to the meeting include Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) Director-General, Mohamed Badi, and Attorney General Paul Kihara.
The President will use the retreat to cool down the rising tension within his Cabinet.
The Cabinet is also said to be split into two factions with one group solidly supporting the President while the other backing the Deputy President.
The Head of State has also summoned the National Assembly and Senate leadership to a meeting.
This comes when the deputy President seems to be preparing his Troops to reject the BBI Report.
Speaking yesterday, Dp Ruto said the times has comes for the Nation to speak and focus about the poor masses other than working toward giving few people jobs at the expense of millions poor and needy kenyans.
“Among the issue for discussion is building bridges initiative BBI, the County has established.
RUTO has called upon political leaders to focus on empowering the Needy and vulnerable people other than focusing on individual gain through BBI.
