UHURU AND KALONZO LEAD KENYANS TO MOURN PC KIILU

President Uhuru and former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka led Kenyans to mourn Former Makueni MP Peter Kiilu and Provincial Commissioner Peter Kiilu.

The former legislator and administrator who spend his entire life in public service rested in Nairobi hospital where he had been admitted for a week. “He has been sick unknowingly and was admitted on Thursday last week.
I talked to him on Tuesday about some affairs in Mbitini and promised to call” lamented Julius Musau the Secretary of MbitiNzau a Professional group founded by Kiilu in Nzaui Sub County.

Through a letter Publisheb by State House, Kenyatta eulogised him as a friendly and seasoned public administrator who served the nation for many years and with distinction “Mr Kiilu was a loyal and distinguished son of Kenya who was committed to the wellbeing of our great nation. His devotion to public service enabled him to rise through the ranks of the provincial administration from a District Officer to the highest level of Provincial Commissioner,” said the Head of State,adding that it is his excellent track record of public service that made Makueni people elect him as their MP in 2007.

Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka condoled with the family, friends, relatives and constituents of Makueni describing him a servant leader. “As MP Peter distinguished himself as a highly effective representative of his constituents and country.May the Almighty God Rest Peter’s Soul in Eternal Peace” tweeted the Kenyan peace envoy to Sudan. On his part Deputy President William Ruto mourned Peter Kiilu as an iconic leader of great conscience and conviction who served the country and the people of Makueni constituency with distinction.

Same views were shared by Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo MUTULA My condolences to the family& friends of Hon Peter Kiilu PC , Former MP, Makueni Constituecy.”We have lost an astute administrator and prolific leader in our community” he eulogized PC via Twitter. Former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama said we have lost a good soul to heaven while his counterpart Khalwale hailed PC’s good work “Hon Peter Kiilu served Western and unlike many who came before & after him, left an unprecedented unblemished record as a provincial commissioner. He also was a great colleague in Parliament. Fare thee well bwana PC, my brother” said the former Kakamega Senator.

Makueni MP Daniel Maanzo who trauced Kiilu in 2013 and 2017 polls described him as a peace maker who made enormous contributions to the people of Makueni and Kenya. “Although he had a different approach in politics he remained a close confidant. I never hesitated from consulting him on several matters. His legacy in bridging division will not be forgotten” Maanzo posted on facebook. Similar remarks were shared by Musoma JM, another parliamentary aspirant who contested against Kiilu. “Rest In Peace my good friend PC Kiilu i learned alot from you when we were competing for Makueni MP 2017 though we both lost. The only best way to eulogize you is to continue with your push for a favourable demarcation of constituency boundaries in Makueni” said the political activist in reference to a boundary review proposal they drafted together. Kiilu who has lost on a Jubilee ticket championed for creation of Nzaui constituency.

Having served Moi,Kibaki and Uhuru regimes,Kiilu goes down as one of the most powerful and influencial leaders Ukambani has ever had. His networks were wide and networthy ; raging from administration, religion, business to politics. “The Late Hon. PC. Peter Kiilu was an astute administrator, an humble parliamentarian, a political schemer, a believer in God and really supported the church, a business man, rooted for employment of many of the current Kamba Administrators among others” Speaker Mbilu narrated. According is political confidant Wavinya Nzioka, Makueni has lost a legend,a father who was a different kind of a breed,a wit and sober leader. A visionary and a development minded person. “I am deeply saddened by the loss of a true friend who always upheld the sacredness of human life and dignity. May my condolences bring comfort and my prayers ease the pain of loss during this time. Rest in eternal peace Peter” said James Mbaluka an influencial business man.
