THE KITUI COUNTY HEALTH SERVICES BILL, 2021 (C/A BILL NO. 1 2021 – Sponsored by MCA Hon Charles Maema goes First Time reading today.
It is a Bill for an Act of the County Assembly of Kitui to provide for the healthcare services and the management of county health facilities, community health services, to contribute to the realization of the highest standard of health as provided under Article 43(1)(a) of the Constitution of Kenya, to provide for rights and duties of healthcare providers and users to establish the framework for administration and management of the fund, to provide for the levying of the user fee, and to provide for matters connected therewith and incidental thereto.
The Bill now stands committed to the Committee on Health and Sanitation which shall present a report to the Assembly within 21 calendar days of the committal. If the Committee’s report isn’t presented when due, the Bill shall be ordered to be read a Second Time on such a day the Assembly Business Committee shall in consultation with the Health Committee appoint.

Also, a report by the Committee on Labor and Social Welfare on the Assessment of the Welfare and Engagement of Workers at the Kitui County Textile Centre (KICOTEC) was today laid on the table of the House and Notice of Motion given.
