The council of Governors In Kenya are Working a bill that will seeks to trim the powers of local MCAs, The Governors have been walking on tight ripe because of county assembly representative in all counties.

The council needs More funds and the control over all road projects in the County as top governors priorities as they finalise demands to be included in the proposed referendum.

Embu Governor Martin Wambora said they will also seek to reduce the powers of MCAs dramatically . “We have a committee at the Council of Governors, which is working on the legislation.

Embu Governor who has survived two impeachments Motions, said in press conference it has been difficult for county executives to work with constant threats of impeachment from MCAs if they doesn’t play their favorite dance.

Wambora said the governors will lobby to have the equitable share of revenue from the national government up from 15% to 45% based on each financial year accounts , rather than the last audited accounts.

Counties currently receive at least 15 per cent of the ordinary revenue .
