Her Excellency Governor Charity Ngilu, the Board of Directors of Syongila vocational training centre, and the community held a public participation on establishing Export Processing Zone at Syongila.
The establishment of EPZ will displace the Syongila Vocational Training Centre.
The community, the vocational training centre board and the county representative unanimously resolved that Kitui Couny Textile Centre (KICOTEC) is retained at Syongila, Students in the facility studying garment making to be absorbed by KICOTEC, and the rest of students transferred to other polytechnics.
The staff of the facility will also be placed in other institutions since they are County Government employees.
Governor Ngilu was accompanied by Leader of minority in the county assembly Hon Alex Nganga, area MCA Antony Ndoo,Kitui Central constituency CDF Chairman and chief officer trade Justus Kalii.
