The AU Boss Moussa Faki Calls for Calm in Kenya

The African Union(AU) Commission boss HE Moussa Faki has called for calm in Kenya amidst public protests on the high cost of living.

Mr Faki has urged all stakeholders to engage in honesty dialogue in order to address the differences that may exist in the supreme interest of unity.

Mr. Moussa Faki has expressed his deep concern at violence following public protests in Kenya since 21 March 2023, which has resulted in loss of life, damage to property and the interruption of certain economic activities in the capital, Nairobi.

The Chairperson urges all stakeholders to exercise calm and
engage in dialogue to address any diferences that may exist in the supreme interest of national unity and reconciliation.

In this regard, the Chairperson wishes to recall the successful conduct of General Elections in August 2022 in Kenya and the subsequent unanimous confirmation of the election outoome by the Supreme Court.

The Chairperson reiterates the total solidarity with and support to the Government and the People of Kenya’s efforts working towards national unity, peace and stability in the country.

He reiterates total solidarity between Government and Kenyans towards peace, Love and stability in the country.

The Opposition chiefs led by Raila Odinga have vowed to continue with demonstrations until the government brings down the cost of living .
