Stay put for 2022 race, lobby group tell Prof Kibwana


A lobby group comprising of women leaders and professionals has endorsed Makueni Governor Professor Kivutha Kibwana for the country’s top seat.

The women leaders who met governor Kibwana at Kasikeu during a consultative meeting on the eve of Christmas hailed his servant leadership style and development record that is now envied by many.

They said that Prof Kibwana is the best suited candidate to run the country’s as the top most Chief Executive Officer.

“We are appealing to you to stay the whole course and gun for the top seat when time comes. You have our backing and blessings” the leaders told the governor.

On his part, Prof. Kibwana reaffirmed his commitment for the presidency to the thousands of women at the rendezvous.

Governor Kibwana said that his pitching for tenancy in statehouse was premised, pegged and bouyed by impeccable development record, first as the Makueni governor and as a reknown human rights champion and crusader in Kenya.

Kibwana’s model of leadership bagged him the 2019 Voice Achievers Award of the most outstanding governor in Africa.

This unfolded in a week that saw the three Ukambani governors Charity, Alfred Mutua and Kibwana snub a Wiper leaders’ meeting convened by Kalonzo Musyoka at his Yatta farm on Monday.
