On Saturday, 12th, 2020 – Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu scorned leaders criticizing her development agenda saying she is focused on growing the county and not engaging in early politicking.
Speaking when she launched the improvement of the Genery-Kaveta B7 road today in Kitui town, Governor Ngilu emphasized she will not abandon her role and delve in early politics.
“I am not concerned about those without any duty to perform. I was elected to serve and that’s where my focus is”. She said.
The Governor’s statements were echoed by MCAs among them Township’s Anthony Ndoo and Mutonguni’s Musee Mati – who hit out at their colleagues for allegedly sabotaging Kitui’s development agenda.
The road launched today will improve the socio-economy status of the adjacent neighborhood, open development in the area, provide links to B7 road hence reduce traffic congestion at the main entry point to town, reduce travel time and vehicle maintenance & operation costs.
The road will also promote movements between the Town and Kalundu market.
The project also intends to create employment for all, aiming to bridge the gap of unemployment throughout the contract period moreover, open up more business opportunities by improving ease of goods and human mobility.
