SEKEB holds a Working symposium in Kitui

On friday, 28th April 2023 – South Eastern Kenya Economic Block (SEKEB) in collaboration with Africa’s Voices Foundation (AVF) held a dissemination workshop at a Kitui hotel.

The workshop brought together officials from different organizations to deliberate on strengthening citizens’participation in decision-making through interactive radio dialogue in Kitui, Machakos and Makueni Counties.

Speaking during the workshop, the Programme Manager AVF, Moses Maina outlined the findings as well as the recommendations from a research carried out to the SEKEB entity for consideration.

On the other hand, Kitui Director for SEKEB, Peter Nguli acknowledged the AVF’s approach saying it provides citizens a unique space to air their views.

In his speech during the workshop, Kitui Water and Irrigation CECM, Peter Nkunda reiterated the county administration’s readiness to work closely with development partners for the benefit of Kitui residents and socioeconomic growth of the SEKEB region as well as strengthening civic engagement and ensuring feedback to the citizens.

In attendance were the acting CEO SEKEB Faith Muthoki, members of Civil Society Organizations, Youth, Women, PLWDs, Elderly Religious and community leaders among other officials.
