The Safaricom Chairman Mr John Ngumi has called it quits after less than six months since his appointment, the media has learnt.
Mr Ngumi accepted the role after former Chairman Michael Joseph quit in July last year .
According to a notice from the telco secretary Kathryne Maundu, Ngumi’s resignation took effect starting December 22 last year.
Subsequently, The Safaricom Board members will elect a new chair in coming weeks.
“John leaves the board to focus on developing green energy generation across Africa with an emphasis on green energy,” Maundu said.
