A total of 254 youths from Kitui, Nyeri, Nairobi, Machakos, Mombasa and Murang’a Counties have participated in a youth talent audition held at the Kitui Parkside Villa Hotel in Kitui Town.
They are 239 males and 15 females where the event that took place on Friday, January 18, 2019 had been organised by the Life Dream Production in collaboration with the High Mark Production and the Kitui Canaan Hotel and Outside Catering Services. Amos Musembei Mwaki (Life Dream Production Director), John Mesark Kiema (High Mark Production Director), Peter Muthui (Kitui Canaan Hotel and Outside Catering Services proprietor), Juliet Mueni from the County FM Radio Station and Tiko Dennis from the Angaza Talanta were the event’s adjudicators.
Mwaki highly thanked the contestants for turning up in large numbers for the event. “I highly thank you and the society for the support that you have accorded us to make the event a success. Keep up with the same spirit,” the filming expert said. Mwaki also thanked the Kitui Parkside Villa Hotel for having provided them with a venue for free. He said the event was part of their many projects. He asked the youths to be always turning up in large numbers for their (the organisers) auditions for their own benefits. And on his part, Kiema also thanked the youths for their participation in the event and having time to showcase their talents. “Today we were dealing with the acting talent, but we promise you that the coming auditions will cover all the stage talents that the youths have,” the filming expert said.
He said that some 85 per cent of the youths in Kitui County have many different types of talents and requested the local county government to support them (the youths) towards exploiting their talents for their own benefits and for the benefits of Kitui County, Kenya and the world in general. “We are soon coming up with a film known as the Mathematics Lesson,” Kiema announced. He is the very film’s director. In his speech, Muthui said that they the Kitui Canaan Hotel and Outside Catering Services had trained scores of the local youths on catering skills for free, adding that they will continue doing so for the benefits of their youths, the people and the county. Muthui also decried the increasingly massive unemployment among the Kenyan youths.
