Something really commendable is happening in Kitui County. This can only speak to the proper planning and sound management of the County by Governor Julius Malombe.
And we are not whipping any emotions. Below are the undisputed facts and figures – speaking for themselves.
The County Revenue collection has doubled with the collapse of mbee nzei administration and the coming in of Dr. Malombe’s administration.
According to Revenue Report for March 2023, total revenue collection figures stand at Ksh63, 236, 701/ (as at March 2023) while as at March 2022 (mbee nzei), the revenue figures stood at Ksh34, 392, 089/
Here below is the breakdown.
Something curious, ladies and gentlemen.
During the last regime total revenue collected by the *Department of Water and Irrigation was a miserable Ksh 176, 640/ as at March 2022. March 2023, the total revenue collected by the same department is a whooping Ksh1,142, 725/, giving a variance of Ksh966, 085/!
Department of Environment and Energy.
By March 2022, this department collected a pitiable Ksh25, 700 as revenue. Currently, the department has collected Ksh433,000/ as at March 2023.
Department of Health and Sanitation.
In March 2022, it collected Ksh13 million whereas by March 2023, it turned up Ksh22M as revenue.
The County Treasury in March 2022 collected only Ksh5.4M but as at March 2023, it had collected Ksh15.6 Million.
Further, Kitui municipality *collected Ksh6.1M during the period under review while as at March 2023 it turned up Ksh12.5M.
Data speaks for itself ladies and gentlemen. There is no gainsaying the fact that under Governor Malombe, revenue collection has improved and with it, the well being of Kitui residents.
