Kenya Medical Training College Chairman Prof. Philip Kaloki has attributed the growth of Lukenya University to former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka.
He described Lukenya as one of the fastest growing university in Kenya. While giving his key note speech Kaloki who was the Chief Guest at the Cultural Week event held at the University Campus in Kambu on Saturday Night praised the Wiper Party leader for rallying the local community to enroll in the facility.
“Sustaining a dream in an institution like this requires healthy partnerships. It took the effort of Kalonzo Musyoka who was the guest of honour in your first graduation three year ago to double the number of students in this facility” said the professor.
The University which is home to over three thousand students has about one thousand members of the Kamba Community who are the most dominant. The facility was a major boost to the economy and members of the business community in the neighboring Kambu market.
Kaloki who comes from the neigborhood has maintained a close working relationship with the University. “I have talked to your Vice Chancellor and we have agreed to have a partnership between Lukenya University and KMTC.
Since KMTC is a mid level college our students who come here with diploma in relevant medical fields with be exempted the units covered. This means they will join in second year second term” Kaloki pledged amid cheers.
He on behalf of Wiper Party donated fifty thousand shillings to buy a bull for the university to slaughter during their end of term party. He asked them to join Wiper and support Kalonzo as President coz he has a vast experience in National leadership with no single record of corruption.
He further promised that he will engage IEBC to have the University made a polling station so that students can efficiently participate in elections. The nearest polling station is at Kambu and student have to walk for over five Kilometers to go and vote.
Kaloki who had addressed two other gatherings during the day asked Ukambani leaders to put their personal differences aside and to join hands with Wiper Party Leader so that the community can produce the next President of Kenya in 2022.
