The supporters of Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua from on Tuesday took to the streets to have a peaceful demonstration against individuals who are alleged to have threatened the Governor.
Maendeleo Chap Chap Party (MCC) is a political party in Kenya.
The MCC was established by Dr Alfred Mutua, the Governor of Machakos County.
Led by Party Secretary General Mr Stephen Mutua Kilonzo, the peaceful demonstrators urged the state to expedite the arrest of the individuals who have threatened the Governor regardless of their position in the society.
Kitui town was brought to a standstill as residents demonstrated in defence of the Governor of Machakos Dr Alfred Mutua.
Machakos town was also brought to a standstill as demonstrators took to the streets in a show of solidarity to the Governor Dr Alfred Mutua.
On Monday, the Governor reported that he was threatened by minority leader Hon Aden Duale and Senator Majority leader Hon Murkomen. He reported to the Kilimani Police Station on claims that Deputy President William Ruto threatened him over his fight on corruption.
The governor claims that on December 11, 2019, during the State visit by the Prime Minister from Barbados at State House, William Ruto personally told Governor Mutua that he will teach him a lesson as he has been after him on the war on corruption.
As quoted by the governor,
and he (William Ruto) tightly grasped my hand and told me, I have heard what you have said, you have been on my case and now I just hit you and I will hit you, I will teach you a lesson” – Alfred Mutua.
Maendeleo chap Chap Mutonguni MCA hon Eng Mati was no show during the demonstration in kitui, “”when the COUNTY DIARY called him his phone went unanswered.
Machakos Chief of Staff Dr Mwengi Mutuse AKA Mwene Mathau did not join kitui demonstrators after he was warned by kitui east East Mp Hon Nimrod Mbai last month not to step in kitui
