President William Samoei Ruto will on Wednesday, 15th October 2025, preside over the grand launch of the tarmacking of the KwaSiku–Migwani–Thokoa–Mbondoni Road in Mwingi West Constituency, Kitui County. The event is part of his Ukambani Development Tour, aimed at accelerating infrastructural development and boosting regional connectivity.
The high-profile event will be hosted by Hon. Charles Nguna, the Member of Parliament for Mwingi West, and will kick off at 8:00 a.m. in KwaSiku, Migwani. Thousands of residents and local leaders are expected to attend the ceremony, which marks a major milestone in addressing the long-standing challenge of poor road infrastructure in the area.
The new road is expected to significantly improve transportation, ease the movement of goods and people, and open up new economic opportunities for the communities along the route. Local traders, farmers, and transport operators have expressed optimism that the project will transform livelihoods and attract more investment to Mwingi West.
Hon. Nguna has thanked President Ruto for prioritizing the project, terming it a “dream come true” for the people of Migwani and the greater Mwingi region. He urged residents to come out in large numbers to welcome the Head of State and witness the beginning of a new chapter in the constituency’s development journey.
