Ukambani is gearing up for a busy week as President William Samoei Ruto embarks on an extensive development tour across Machakos, Makueni, and Kitui Counties starting Wednesday, October 15, 2025. The President’s itinerary features a series of key infrastructure and housing projects aimed at boosting connectivity and economic growth in the region.
On Wednesday, October 15, the Head of State will visit Mwingi West to inspect the Kwasiku–Migwani–Mbondoni Road project, before proceeding to Kitui East for the launch of the Zombe–Mwitika Road tarmacking, and later to Kangundo for the Kangundo–Mwala Road project.
On Friday, October 17, Ruto will preside over several groundbreaking ceremonies including the Email–Ukia Road in Kibwezi West, the Ikutha–Mutha Road in Kitui South, the Kitui Affordable Housing Project, and the official opening of Ithookwe Stadium in Kitui Central.
The President will attend a church service in Mwingi Central on Sunday, October 19, followed by Mashujaa Day celebrations on Monday, October 20.
His tour will continue on Tuesday, October 21, with stops in Makueni to inspect the Wote Affordable Housing Project, in Mwala to launch the Kivandini–Miseleni Road and Mwala Cluster Water Project, and in Machakos to commission the Machakos Affordable Housing Program and Mutituni Market.
The week-long visit will conclude on Wednesday, October 22, with the launch of the Kandwia–Kamuwongo Road in Mwingi North and the commissioning of Mikuyu Bridge in Kilome, underscoring the government’s commitment to accelerating infrastructure and economic transformation in the Ukambani region.
