President Ruto Chairs Second Cabinet Meeting


President William Ruto has today on Tuesday 15th November chaired the second cabinet meeting at State House, Nairobi.

The meeting came after the Labour court temporarily stopped the ongoing vetting of Principal Secretaries nominated by the President.

Justice Nzioki Makau ordered the vetting process by the National Assembly Committee to be halted following a suit filed by the Law Society of Kenya.

The approval hearing had entered day two with four nominees slated to be vetted today.Another priority agenda topics include the rising insecurity in the country’s capital which has led to the spread of fear among residents.

In the past week, there have been increased cases of mugging and stabbing in Nairobi, prompting changes in command by Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome.

In its last meeting, barely five days ago, the Cabinet approved a framework to settle all outstanding obligations owed to road contractors in the amount of Ksh. 92 Billion through a bridge bond.

The Cabinet also approved the establishment of Kabonyo Fisheries and Aquaculture Service and Training Centre of Excellence in Kisumu.

The Sh1B Centre will facilitate training, research, innovation, and best practices in Fisheries and Aquaculture through demonstrations and incubation.
