President Dr William ruto has called on opposition leader hon Raila Odinga to call off demonstrations and give the country time to progress.
Speaking during the televised address to the nation, the president said he has carefully listened to the issues raised by his friend Raila Odinga.
“My doors still remain open for honest, objective and sincere deliberations based on the rule of law and the constitution” President William Ruto has said.
President Ruto: We will not switch off the media; it should be left to carry out its duties regardless how biased they might be.
On the IEBC reconstitution, I urge my brother Raila Odinga and the opposition to call off demonstrations and give a bipartisan approach a chance for us to take Kenya forward”
The IEBC conducted a free fair and transparent general elections on 9 August 2022, a poll that was observed by different organisations both local and international – President added.
“In the last two weeks, the country’s economy has been hit hard at a time when my administration is doing everything possible to salvage the economy from the deep hole where we found it” President William Ruto further added.
Over three Kenyans among them a police officer lost their lives in the protest. More than 400 Kenyans including at least 60 security officers have been injured by the ongoing demonstration, President William Ruto said on Sunday evening.
