The KMTC Board led by Board Chairman Prof. Philip Kaloki, EBS has today commissioned a double cabin utility vehicle for Sigowet Campus.
The vehicle is the second to be commissioned this week after Kisii received a vehicle on Monday.
Handing over the keys to the Principal, Prof. Kaloki reported that a bus for the campus was also in the pipeline in the near future.
“The purchase of these vehicles are part of measures the Board is taking to enhance teaching and learning,”
Adding that the President is relying on the College to deliver competent health workers to meet the Country’s health needs, Kaloki said that it’s important to deliver
The Chairman assured Soin Member of Parliament Hon. Kipsengeret Koros that the Board is fully committed to seeing Sigowet Campus grow. Towards this, he said, the Board would allocate Kshs 20 Million for expansion of the Campus and mount more need based programs.
Hon. Koros, who is an alumnus of KMTC, informed the Board that he had already invested more than Kshs 7 Million in addition to Kshs 15 Million used by his predecessor to set up the Campus.
He divulged that he was also in the process of completing four classrooms at the Campus.
The MP observed that establishment of Sigowet Campus had spurred growth of the town, turning it into a business hub.
He reassured the students of their security and reported that a police station would be set up in the area in addition to installation of street lighting.
The CEO reiterated the commitment of Management to carry the Board’s vision of cementing KMTC ‘s place as the preferred training institution for competent health workers by ensuring proper implementation of policies.
He encouraged the area residents to enroll their children at the Campus.
Board Director Mithamo Muchiri said that the Board’s visit to the Campus was an opportunity to interact with staff and students as they deliver their mandate of equipping the Campus. He urged the students to do their part by focusing on their studies.
Board Director Mr. Frederick Wamwaki reminded the students that they are ambassadors of the College and urged them to carry the KMTC brand with pride and dignity.
