SOMBE, KITUI – A woman is nursing critical injuries at Kitui Level Hospital after an accident in Zombe market in Kitui East on Friday afternoon.
A lorry barreling at break-neck speed veered off the road ,slammed into makeshift market sheds and hit three mama bogas.
The suprise accident that caught the public unaware left tomatoes, cabbages and kales scattered in all directions and destroyed several Mama mboga bandas in its wake.
The decript lorry missed the turn as brakes failed and hit three women leaving one woman critically injured.
They victims were rushed to Zombe Level Four hospital where they received treatment.
The critically injured lady was transferred to Kitui Referral hospital according to the the hospital staff who spoke to COUNTY DIARY.
“The guy who caused the accidents was a trained turnboy driver, he just got to the lorry belonging to his friend which was at the parking lot” said an eye witness at the scene.
The quack driver is said to have fled the scene as police have launched a manhunt.
The motorists have been cautioned against careless driving and failing to observe road traffic especially in a congested area.
