Governor Charity Ngilu today met all heads of departments in Kitui referral hospital for an interactive session on improving service delivery in the top county facility.
The meeting convened at the hospital focused on attitude change, good patient handling and how to save time taken in getting services by the over 23,000 patients who monthly visit the facility.
The Governor urged the medical practitioners to offer their best, uniform and quality services to the different social classes of patients visiting the facility.
“I want to join you in offering quality service to Musangi in this hospital, i will do my part in equipping the hospital with all the equipment needed, to offer all the medical services needed at a hospital. In return, i expect you to give your best in all the services you offer at the different departments you work in” She said.
“I also want us to make the hospital a money making facility. We need to make the maximum amount of money from the insurance companies, with which our clients have subscribed into. The money we will get from this insurances, will be used to boost the proceeds from KCHIC subscribers and in the end,we will be able to offer the best services to everyone, and make Kitui Referral hospital the facility everyone would like to be getting their medical services from” She added.
The health practioners promised to support the governor in her dream to change the operations at the hospital, saying they were all ready and equal for the task.
The officers were from the department of County Health Management Team, Specialist Doctors, Medical Officers, Clinical Officers, Nursing Officers, Radiolology(X-ray ) Officers, Kidney Dialysis Officers, Laboratory Officers
and Hospital Administration Officers, Intern Doctors and Clinical Officers
Others in the meeting were the Chief Officer Ministry of health Dr. Muthoka, the hospital Medi Sup Dr. Mungai and the hospital adminstrator.
