DP Ruto and his combative gang term the changes as fraudulent, as chaos reign supreme in Jubilee
Kitui East Member of Parliament Hon. Nimrod Mbai is amongst the 350 combative legislators resisting the move to change the membership of National Management Committee (NMC) of the ruling Jubilee Party.
The popular MP is standing by the beleguered yet unbowed DP Ruto who has termed the gung-ho style to change Jubilee top echelons.
In a letter to the Acting Registrar of Political Parties Ann Nderitu, DP Ruto, who appears to have been caught flatfooted by his opponents; said that the move to change the membership of National Management Committee (NMC) contravened the party’s constitution and therefore, null and void.
However, the battle to reverse the changes to reconstitute the echelons of the ruling party might be bruising for Mbai and his ilk.
And as chaos reign supreme in Jubilee, top honchos in the party might just as well have their way – If the statements by the Registrar are anything to go by.
This week, the registrar of Political Parties Ann Nderitu asked Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju to address—internally—the issues raised by over 350 objections before the change of office bearers is effected by her office.
Nderitu also directed Tuju, in a letter dated April 16, to apprise her office with deliberations and resolution once the they are done.
Alternatively, the matter can be taken to the Political Parties Dispute Resolution Tribunal for hearing and determination, she suggests.
It remains to be seen if the move by a clique in Jubilee that seeks to edge out DP Ruto and his combative throng of legislators will see the light of the day.
