Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has urged non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to empower communities to be productive through skills training, technology and provision of investment capital.
Ngilu’s representative, Policy Advisor Nzungi Ngwele shared her remarks during Care International financial project stakeholders forum held in Kyuso, Mwingi North Sub County.
Over 1,000 households have already benefitted from health access, assets development, training, mentorship and financial literacy in Mwingi Central and Mwingi North Sub Counties.
A baseline survey conducted by Care International outlined food, poverty, poor access to healthcare and low households income as the most disturbing necessities in most parts of the county. The needs coincide with Governor Ngilu’s five manifesto pillars, which her government is fast tracking for solutions countywide.
