On Tuesday, March 16 2021 – Governor Charity Ngilu during the morning Chaired the Senior County Management Team meeting.
In the meeting, Governor Ngilu was briefed on the progress of several activities that are on-going within the county. Key amongst those discussed include:
- Slaughterhouse renovation works
Having toured and established the extent of the situation at the slaughterhouse in Kitui, Governor Ngilu was briefed as to the status of renovation works in the facility.
A cabinet paper with a raft of proposals was tabled, discussed and recommendations as to the nature of upgrading made.
Upon completion, the slaughterhouse will be fully mechanized, the size and output will also be increased while at the same time an improvement of the hygiene condition will be inevitable.
Consequently, it was agreed that structures put up illegally within the facility’s land will be demolished with immediate effect.
Also, the team deliberated on several key ongoing projects. They sought to highlight the extent of Implementation of the identified projects within their respective proposed sites and the challenges that inhibit effective implementation of the same.
In the meeting, a common ground was reached by the team to fastrack the implementation of key infrastructure projects to improve the status of Kitui Residents.
