Kitui County Governor Charity Kaluki Ngilu has promised the people of Kanziku Ward in Kitui South Constituency a county minister position within her government.
The governor was speaking to a 32-member delegation from the ward in her office on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. Led by former Kitui County Council Chairman Boniface Musango Kilai and John Munyasya Mwanzia, the delegation had visited the governor to express their complaints to her over the alleged expunging of “our son’s name” from the County Public Service Board (CPSB) as a board member.
The expunged asked the media not to mention his name in the media. “The position you are complaining for is small. Instead of it, I am going to give you a big position in my government.
“I am going to give you a minister,” Ngilu told the complainants. And they highly thanked her for the promise. Kanziku is one of the Kitui County’s 40 wards. The governor asked them to support her in her development programme for Kitui County as the area governor.
They lauded the governor’s bee-keeping programme in the county where they said the programme is progressing for the good of the local bee-keepers. And they also lauded her government’s move of coming up with the Kitui County Textile Centre (KICOTEC).
Ngilu told them that she is going to open the factory’s branches in Mwingi Town and at the Mutomo market within the county for the good of the county’s youths. “We as a delegation from Kanziku Ward are happy with the KICOTEC.
The centre is functional and the children from our county have been employed by the county government to work at the factory,” they said. From the governor’s office, the delegation toured the KICOTEC.
