KITUI GOVERNOR Charity Ngilu on Tuesday afternoon Mets Union of workers officials drawn from UKSC, KCGWO, KCGNWU, and KCUWO at her boardroom, in kitui town.
The Meeting was a follow up in regard to June salary delays and subsequent looming strike Notice which had been issued by the Officials.
The Governor reaffirmed her commitment into unlocking the delay in the shortest time possible, she also called for workers to be patient as the county government works out the modality for unlocking the unexpected June salary delay.
The county chief took the opportunity to explain to the officials what the government is doing to address the matter and urged politicians to keep off the salary debate and avoid politicizing everything.
The governor said she has confidence with county government workers who are tirelessly working for the people of Kitui, and reiterated her personal commitment to address the delay, which has been necessitated by the shooting down of sup budget by the county assembly.
The Union officials resolved to allow the county leadership more time to address the matter amicably.
The Union officials anonymously agreed to have another Meeting with the Governor Ngilu on Friday 12th with all trade Union branch officials and urged their followers to be patient.
