Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has today on Wednesday met Internal Security CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i in Nairobi.The leaders discussed security matters in different areas of Kitui County.
Mwingi North, Kitui East and Kitui South have the main spots of insecurity that has seen people loose lives before following banditry attacks.
The Internal CS said his Ministry will establish a borderline and have a cutline to realize a lasting solution to the insecurity that has afflicted the people for years.
They also agreed on having a permanent special security apparatus in the affected and borderline areas to enforce security and tackle occasional conflicts.Since normalcy was restored in Kitui South, the Kitui South Game reserve has seen increased numbers of wildlife significantly.
Dr. Matiang’i also hinted on the plan to have all government ministries acquire personal Protective equipment (PPEs) from approved plants among them KICOTEC to heighten the fight against spread of COVID 19.
