On Wednesday, April 7 2021 – Governor Charity Ngilu paid a courtesy call to Jane Marriot the British High Commissioner to Kenya at her Nairobi residence.
In the introductory meeting, the duo discussed possible avenues of collaboration between the county Government of Kitui and the British Government, more specifically avenues of building youths’ capacity through training in matters Artisinal mining, minerals extraction and fabric manufacturing.
Further, Governor Ngilu shared the milestones achieved by her government in empowering the lives of the people of Kitui county.
In her remarks, the High Commissioner extended her support towards a full implementation of Governor Ngilu’s 5 Pillar Manifesto. In addition, she also called upon the Governor to bolster support towards gender equality.
“I really love your zeal to help Kitui people, your manifesto covers the basics and I must say, I’ll support this journey.” Ms. Marriot reiterated.
