Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has lauded The Anglican Church of Kenya Archbishop – The Most Reverend Dr.Jackson Ole Sapit for banning politicians from speaking in ACK churches.
Amani leader Hon Mudavadi walked out of the meeting after Bishop ruled out politicians from addressing the gathering.
Considering the show displayed by ANC leadership led by their party Leader Musalia Mudavadi, who walked out minutes after the Archbishop, Ngilu urged politicians to respect the places of interest.
She called upon other churches to follow suit and ban politicians from using the church to propagate their political agenda, saying that it was high time the pulpit was respected.
The Governor spoke this in Butere, Kakamega County, after she attended the consecration and consecration ceremony of Rose Okeno, the first ACK Bishop.
She thanked Butere diocese for showing confidence in Women leadership, by electing a woman as their Bishop.
She termed her election to office as another winner for the girl child and urged women to present themselves whenever elective positions are available, for women exemplary leadership.
