On Saturday, 28th November, 2020 – Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu brought together over two hundred and fifty Kitui County Professionals in a formal consultation forum at Kitui KEFRI Centre, The COUNTY DIARY Reports.
The key aim of the caucus was to discuss and deliberate on the ways and means towards mitigating on and containing the ravages of the Coronavirus pandemic in Kitui county and the Building Bridges Initiative report which seeks to amend the constitution, the COUNTY DIARY REPORTS.
Speaking at the forum, prolific Kitui South MP Hon Dr Rachael Nyamai urged the professionals present to support President Uhuru Kenyatta’s quest towards uniting the country through BBI process.
“My support for the BBI initiative and aligns with our quest for inclusivity and cohesion and I reiterate that I will be steadfast and will continue walking with President Kenyatta as he builds his legacy that is pegged on development, peace and cohesion” said KITUI South MP Kaki Nyamai.
On her part, Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu, who at the venue also placed a call to Wiper Leader Dr Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka to address the meeting called for total support of the BBI not only in Ukambani but across the nation.
Decorated High Court lawyer Mr Morris Kimuli and his colleagues at the bar led members into fruitful BBI discussion, clause by clause and urged the people of Kitui masses to support The document.
Kitui Central MP Hon Dr Makali Mulu speaking at the forum urged the community to support the BBI process.
Mulu said the community leaders will continue to push for more constituency in Kitui and Mwingi as county saying it’s the interest of the community to have Mwingi as a COUNTY.
Senior leaders present include the County Assembly Speaker Hon George Ndotto, A good number of MCAs and Members of County Executive, Kitui Workers Union Chair Mr Kitheka Kwanda among other leaders.
