Ngilu Joins Other Governors in Naivasha for BBI Summit Rendezvous

On Monday, November 9, 2020 – Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu joined other governors at Naivasha for a two-day retreat organized by the Council of Governors.

President Kenyatta and Rt. Hon Raila Odinga are expected to grace the Summit.

The two are keen to grace the Summit as this provides the two with an opportunity to rally the much needed support of the county chiefs for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.

The Governors will be taken through the document by a team of experts with the view of building consensus on the report.

The retreat convenes two weeks after President Uhuru and Raila met MPs from the bicameral Parliament who resolved to support the document and popularize it ahead of next year’s referendum that will see Kenyans cast their vote on whether to alter the country’s governance structure.
