Think bigger for the community, kitui Governor charity Ngilu tells local Kamba leaders. Ask Penmen and women to shape the county discourse.
Governor Charity Ngilu on 20th October evening hosted Mashujaa working Dinner for kitui journalists and renowned bloggers.
In consultative dinner, Governor shared her four-year transformational development orientated pilgrimage to transform kitui and urged kitui penmen and women to be at the forefront in shaping the county discourse.
The Governor called upon local leaders to think bigger for the sake of the community saying the resources allocated to counties is peanuts compared to what is left at the national level.
For instance, the country budget is close to three Trillion while counties get 300B, the Ministry of road and infrastructure at the national level is close to 400B more than what 47 counties get.
She asked the community to think bigger and work hard to be part of the Next government after 2022.
Ngilu said she wants a situation where several Kamba are appointed CS, PS, Ambassadors and top governments officials at the National level instead of fighting for small positions like Governorship saying whoever will be Gov in Kitui, Makueni and Machakos will be Kamba.
