Ngilu gives kitui farmers Hope In livestock agribusiness farming.

Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has challenged officers in the agricultural, livestock and fisheries sectors to change their approach in dealing with their respective subsectors.

The Governor appealed to the officers to develop new strategies in the implementation of development plans and policies.

She was speaking when she met officers from the Water, Agriculture, Fisheries and Livestock departments in Kitui town today.

She told field extension officers to ensure farmer cease to complain about their performance and ensure they feel their presence and impact.

Ngilu told them to ensure they deliver quality services to all farmers in order to maximize productivity towards fulfilment of her manifesto pledge for food security and wealth creation by providing farmers with the requisite training and advisory.

She said field extension officers should educate farmers on modern agricultural technologies and best farming practices in order to give them a competitive edge over other farmers in Kenya and beyond.

She said her government would provide the necessary resources and goodwill to propel the four sectors to greater heights of success.
